Recent Reads

Below are some recent books I’ve read. I get a lot of recommendations from podcasts, like 10% Happier with Dan Harris and soon to be defunct Tell Me Something True with Laura McKowen, and Quitted with Holly Whitaker and Emily McDowell. I listen to a lot of sober podcasts so I think that influences my choices. I’m also big on audiobooks since I rarely have have time to sit with a book in my hands. Listening while I do dishes or drive just makes.

Breathe: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nastor

White Feminism by Koa Beck

Happy Days by Gabrielle Bernstein

The Great Work of Your Life by Stephen Cope

Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson

I’m planning to read How to Keep House While Drowning: A Gentle Approach to Cleaning and Organizing by KC Davis after listening to her on a recent 10% Happier podcast.

I’m also part of a book club with women in my neighborhood. We’ve been on a bit of a hiatus because of summer and the start of the school year but here is a list of books we read over the past year.

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

The Invisible Husband of Frick Island by Colleen Oakley

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead

The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

Wire to Wire by Patrick McArdle (memoir written by my neighbor)

I’m also hoping to read the Big Leap and Atomic Habits, the next books by Laura McKowen and Holly Whitaker and various book club selections. I think I’m missing a few reads but I can alway add them to this post later.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
