The plant life is pretty awesome in Scottsdale, especially if you are coming from the east coast of the USA like me. I can’t seem to ever get enough photo opportunities with cacti. I love looking at all the different varieties and their shapes and sizes.

There are also many distinct trees, like palm and mesquite trees to marvel at. Another perk are all the flowers, especially silly when you come during a colder climate. It’s a pleasure to see the colored petals in the middle of February.

The Old Town area is characterized by charming old western-style buildings, art galleries, western wear and jewelry style shops, and a beautiful centralized open space, plaza area and civic space. It’s a lovely place to take a stroll, admire the landscaping, unique buildings, and statuary.

In between your wanderings and admiring the flora, there are plenty of nice spots to grab a bite to eat.
There are many solid restaurants in Scottsdale. Here are a few I can recommend.
The Sugar Bowl – 1950’s vibes and family friendly

Cien Agaves – solid Tex Mex in a prime Old Town location
The Mission – upscale Latin inspired menu and interiors, beautiful structure.

Los Olivos Mexican Patio – Family-owned vibes and a Scottsdale classic.

Hula’s Modern Tiki Scottsdale– if you want to try something new and different. Great location.
