While in Franklin Tennessee last week I had a chance to stop by the little village of Leipers Fork, which is a distinct part of the city of Franklin. It’s found along a scenic drive through the back roads of Tennessee, where you will find a little outcropping of historic buildings. The old buildings are now home to high-end home good stores, art galleries, jewelry stores, live music, and some delicious homestyle southern restaurants, like The Fox and Locke and The Country Boy restaurant (IG @thecountryboyrestaurant). There was even a little to go coffee spot called The Red Byrd Coffee Shop where you can get your Java fix in a cute little mid-block corner of the main drag.

The town offers lots of character along with green vistas, and even a tiny “lawn chair” theater with summer performances. I was able to take lots of beautiful pictures and stroll through the town before jumping back in my car and taking the Natchez Trace Parkway, a federal roadway not unlike the Baltimore Washington Parkway if anyone is familiar with that, which connects Tupelo Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee back towards historic downtown Franklin, TN.

Despite being part of Franklin, Leipers Fork is a main character in its own right.
